Marigold

The marigold, which is used for the Inizio hydrolate, is locally grown in Vorarlberg/Austria. It is harvested by hand between end of june and end of august when it is in full bloom during a period of bright sunshine around midday. It will be always watersteam-destilled at the day of the harvest. To receive a balanced, harmonious aroma we mainly flowers.

Marigold-hydrolate smells warm, slightly sweet. Marigold is famous for its wound healing effect. Hildegard of Bingen (1098 - 1179) used marigold in the case of skin disorders as well as poisonings. Marigold has an anti-infammatoring effect and enhances the formation of new blood vessels. So it is a good medicinal plant to care of small injuries, scratches and grazes, to treat burns or inflammed skin parts. The wound-healing effect is confirmed by the commission E. Marigold was „Healing plant of the year“ in the year 2009.

Pure water

The water, which is used for the production of hydrolates, is pure and untreated water from the ground water fields in the foreshore of the Rhine. The Lustenauer drinking water needs no treatment, because it is water of the very best quality. Through the process of destillation pure hydrolat is formed.
