Carpet bugle
The carpet bugle, which is used for the Inizio hydrolate, is locally grown in Vorarlberg/Austria. It is harvested by hand between april and july on a sunny day after the dew has dried and when it is in full bloom. It will be always watersteam-destilled at the day of the harvest. To receive a balanced, harmonious aroma we use the inflorescence.
Carpet bugle-hydrolate smells inconspicuous, a little bit tangy. The wonderful flowering herb contains definitely considerable active agents. One of the most important of them are the tan agents. They help the skin to bei unsusceptible and have an astringent effect. Therefore tan agents „sealing the skin as well as the mucous membranes or e.g. the surface of our hair“. Besides the have a calming effect. That's why they works soothing to the digestive system and they do good in the case of stomach trouble, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal complaints but as well in the case of heartburn. The traditional folk medicine
uses carpet bugle also in the case of oral mucosa inflammation, gum bleeding, sore throat and hemorrhoides. External carpet ist used for boils, bad healing wounds, to prevent from unattractive scars and for hair care.

Pure water
The water, which is used for the production of hydrolates, is pure and untreated water from the ground water fields in the foreshore of the Rhine. The Lustenauer drinking water needs no treatment, because it is water of the very best quality. Through the process of destillation pure hydrolat is formed.
