Dandelion

The dandelion, which is used for the Inizio hydrolate, is locally grown in Vorarlberg/Austria. It is harvested by hand between mai and june when it is in full bloom during a period of bright sunshine around midday. It will be always watersteam-destilled at the day of the harvest. To receive a balanced, harmonious aroma we use only blossoms.  

Dandelion-hydrolate smells malty-sweet, a little inconspicuous. The main agent is the high concentration of bitter principles, so for good reason the generic name „Taraxacum“ means bitter herb. Dandelion was in former times used for washings in the case of blemished skin. Nowadays dandelion is recommended for dry, chapped or rather stressed skin. Because of its metabolism activating, blood purifying and diuretic effects the Commission E endorse the supporting care with dandelion leafs and roots in case of indigestion and lack of appetite (restoration of liver, gall and flow of urine).

Pure water

The water, which is used for the production of hydrolates, is pure and untreated water from the ground water fields in the foreshore of the Rhine. The Lustenauer drinking water needs no treatment, because it is water of the very best quality. Through the process of destillation pure hydrolat is formed.
