Lavender

The lavender, which is used for the Inizio hydrolate, is locally grown in Vorarlberg/Austria. It is harvested by hand between june and august when it is in full bloom during a period of bright sunshine around midday. It will be always watersteam-destilled at the day of the harvest. To receive a balanced, harmonious aroma we use 80% blossoms and 20% herbage, because the green parts of the plant include as well valuable ingredients. 

Lavender-hydrolate smells fine, slightly tangy, characteristicly like lavender blossom. Lavender is used traditionally in the case of restlessness (fidget), exhaustion and nervous sleep onset insomnia and is a popular natural scent, which can be used as a refreshing-, room-, or pillow-spray. In 2014 it was proved in a double-blind study, that lavender oil has an anxiety releasing effect. The soothing effect is recognized by the commission E. So lavender is often used in the field of nursing and caring for elderly people as a natural remedy.
Besides, Lavender is also an excellent face- and bodywater for oily skin, coarse pores, slightly reddened or tanned skin. The traditional medicine uses lavender in the case of couperose, skin problems, eczemas, inflamed wounds as well as shingles. Lavender is a fungicide, so it can be used in the case of skin- as well as nail fungus.

Pure water

The water, which is used for the production of hydrolates, is pure and untreated water from the ground water fields in the foreshore of the Rhine. The Lustenauer drinking water needs no treatment, because it is water of the very best quality. Through the process of destillation pure hydrolat is formed.
