Chamomile

The chamomile, which is used for the Inizio hydrolate, is locally grown in Vorarlberg/Austria. It is harvested by hand between mai and end of july when it is in full bloom during a period of bright sunshine around midday. It will be always watersteam-destilled at the day of the harvest. To receive a balanced, harmonious aroma we use 80% blossoms and 20% leafs, because the green parts of the plant include as well valuable ingredients. 

Chamomile-hydrolate smells characteristicly like chamomile. The medicinal herb is on of the most famous and versatile plants in the volk medicine. The roman chamomile is externally used to care inflamed skin disorders, to harmonize the skin appearance, in the case of inflamed mucous membranes or parodontitis as well as inflammations of the anal- and genital area. For that a hip bath with chamomile works very soothing.
The roman chamomile was in the year 1987 elected from the Association of German Drugstores (Verband Deutscher Drogisten – VDD) to the first „Medicinal plant of the year“. 2002 chamomile was „Healing plant of the year“. The Committe on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) grades chamomile blooms and chamomile oil as a traditional medicinal plant. The positive effects of chamomile is also recognized by the Commission E and the ESCOP (European Scientific Cooperative on Phytotherapy).

Pure water

The water, which is used for the production of hydrolates, is pure and untreated water from the ground water fields in the foreshore of the Rhine. The Lustenauer drinking water needs no treatment, because it is water of the very best quality. Through the process of destillation pure hydrolat is formed.
